If you are using a mobile device:

3) After that you will see your page with photos that you can upload from your device:
By default, you see the active tab - Private photos
For adding new photos to your private list just click on the button: +Add photo
Choose a photo from your device and confirm uploading!

Now you can use this photo and can send it in chat or letters!
